Breaking Barriers

We all carry invisible walls built from assumptions, prejudices, and deeply held beliefs about who belongs and who doesn't. In Acts 9 and 10, God confronts Peter with a vision that tears those walls down completely. Through the story of Cornelius, a Roman centurion considered unclean and off-limits by Jewish standards, Peter discovers that God shows no partiality. The Gospel is not limited by our discriminations, our comfort zones, or our assumptions about who is too far gone for God to reach. The Holy Spirit moved before Peter was even ready, falling on Cornelius's entire household while Peter was still preaching. Our job is not to decide who deserves the Good News. Our job is simply to carry it, move toward people, and trust God to do what only He can do.
