Volunteer FAQ
How do I know where to volunteer?
A great place to start is by thinking about your gifts, passions, experience, and availability. Some people love welcoming others, while others prefer serving behind the scenes. Once you fill out the volunteer interest form, someone from our team will help you explore the best place for you to serve.
Do I have to be a member to volunteer?
Some serving roles are open to anyone who is regularly attending and wants to get connected. Other roles, especially leadership, teaching, kids, students, and other trust-based areas, may require church membership or additional approval.
Do I need experience to volunteer?
Not always. Some roles require specific skills or training, but many areas simply require a willing heart, faithfulness, and a desire to serve others. We will help you find a role that fits your gifts and provide training along the way.
How often will I be expected to serve?
Serving schedules vary by ministry. Some teams serve once a month, while others may serve more often depending on the role and need. When you sign up, we will talk with you about your availability and help you find a serving rhythm that is sustainable.
Can I try serving in an area before committing?
How do I volunteer in Kids or Student Ministry?
Yes. In many ministries, you can shadow or observe before making a regular commitment. We want you to find a place where you can serve faithfully and joyfully.
Fill out the volunteer interest form and select Kids Ministry or Student Ministry. Because we care deeply about the safety and discipleship of children and students, volunteers in these areas will go through an approval process that includes a background check, training, and a conversation with ministry leadership.
How do I volunteer in music or tech?
Fill out the volunteer interest form and select Worship/Music or Tech. Someone from our team will follow up with you about your experience, availability, and next steps. Some roles may include an informal audition, training, or shadowing before being scheduled.
How do I volunteer in Hospitality?
Fill out the volunteer interest form and select Hospitality. This is a great place to serve if you enjoy welcoming people, helping guests feel comfortable, serving coffee, greeting, assisting at the Welcome Center, or helping people take their next step at Crossroads.
