Still Listening, Still Following

What does it truly mean to receive God's Word rather than simply hear it? In this message drawn from Acts 17:1-15, we explore the journey of Paul and Silas as they bring the gospel to Thessalonica and Berea, encountering both fierce resistance and remarkable openness.

The Bereans stand out as a model for us all, described as noble people who received the Word eagerly while also examining the Scriptures daily to test what they were hearing. Their example challenges us to ask an honest question about our own posture toward Scripture: are we letting it go in one ear and out the other, or are we allowing it to sink deep into our hearts and reshape who we are?

The message draws a meaningful distinction between hearing, listening, and truly receiving, reminding us that transformation is not a one-time event but a continual process of surrender. Whether we have followed Jesus for decades or are just beginning to explore faith, we never outgrow our need for the gospel to speak into our everyday lives.
