Luke 24

Easter confronts our wrong assumptions about faith and life. When faithful women came to Jesus' tomb expecting to find a dead body, they discovered an empty tomb and angels asking why they sought the living among the dead. Jesus had already told his followers he would rise on the third day, but they forgot God's promises. The resurrection gives us peace in our fears by reminding us of God's Word, purpose in our confusion by showing us we're part of his ongoing story, and power in our weakness through the Holy Spirit. The tomb is still empty, Jesus is still alive, and his promises still stand today.
