Acts 1:1-11

Jesus' story didn't end with His resurrection—it continues today through His followers. After rising from the dead, Jesus spent 40 days teaching about the kingdom of God, then commanded His disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit's power before beginning their mission. The kingdom of God is His rule breaking into our world, already here through Jesus but not yet fully realized. Jesus' ascension was His coronation, meaning He actively reigns today above every circumstance we face. As His witnesses, we don't need to defend or reinvent the truth—we simply testify to what we know about Jesus. Living with present-tense faith means depending on the Holy Spirit's power rather than our own abilities to carry out God's mission to the ends of the earth.
